Escort Cards - how do you seat wedding guests?

What can you put a number on? How do you do something different and new with an old tradition? I have put together another collection of ideas and tips, this time with escort cards.

There are do's and don'ts to this very basic concept. Whether you are a DIY bride or using the skills from a pro, you want the transition from cocktail to reception to be an easy and fast flowing one.

Incorporate meal choice coding if you can. "Killing two birds with one stone".

Keep everything alphabetized by last name. Do not group your escort cards by table number. This only forces your guests to look through every table list, rather than going right to their name quickly.

You want your guests to find their name quickly...so legible fonts or handwriting is a must. All cards should be visible and not hidden.

 

Does every guest get an escort card? YES. No exceptions here! However, if an infant is coming with the parents, and if no seat is required (not even a high chair), you may place the babies name on the card. High Chair Children get Place Cards!
